Mommy Makeover

mommy makeover

Mommy makeover is a term that encompasses several aesthetic procedures that add up to a comprehensive enhancement for new moms. The suite of services included in a mommy makeover are customized to the anatomy, needs, and desires of women who have recently experienced the miracle of childbirth.

Dr. Justin Booth wants to be the first to congratulate you! But he can offer you much more than kind words; Dr. Booth will help you reclaim the pre-pregnancy body at which you look back longingly in pictures and social media memories.

What Is a Mommy Makeover?

Only you can answer the question above, because the mommy makeover procedure is customized to your individual needs. Each woman’s body responds to pregnancy differently, so Dr. Booth takes a tailored approach to every patient’s mommy makeover procedure. The process may entail multiple services combined into one surgical visit, or a woman may choose to spread out the various components of her mommy makeover.

Liposuction

To facilitate the birth of your bundle of joy, your body may have accumulated fat deposits, especially around the midsection. Now that your pregnancy is over, you can address those unwanted protrusions in a number of ways. Diet and exercise are the best methods of slimming down and maintaining a healthy silhouette. However, eating right and working out may fail to contour your body to your exact specifications. Also, being a new mom is time consuming (understatement alert!). It may be difficult to find the time to stay fit and prepare the perfect meal for yourself when you constantly prioritize the needs of your new baby.

Liposuction is a truly transformative procedure.

Liposuction can be the perfect supplement to your healthy lifestyle. The process begins as Dr. Booth bathes your excess bulk with a tumescent fluid that loosens fat cells as it minimizes bruising.[1] Once the unwanted fat is sufficiently softened, Dr. Booth gently vacuums it from the body through a thin tube called a cannula. The cannula allows the doctor an opportunity to sculpt the target area according to your desired shape.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Pregnancy alters a woman’s body monumentally. The breasts evolve and expand during the 9-month lead up to delivery in order to aid in the nursing process. Breastfeeding can pull down on a new mother’s breasts, and they can become depleted and droopy in the first year of motherhood.

A breast lift (mastopexy) procedure corrects sagging breasts and elevates their placement on the chest.[2] There are a number of approaches Dr. Booth can employ to achieve a woman’s breast lift goals. For a subtle yet striking enhancement, the doctor may opt for a periareolar incision.[3] This technique gently removes excess skin around the areola, hiding any minor scarring at the edge of the dark skin surrounding the nipple.

For a more dramatic transformation, Dr. Booth may extend his incision vertically downward from the nipple. This allows him greater access to the skin and soft tissue along the lower pole of the breast. By adjoining the ridges of the vertical incision, Dr. Booth creates a pleasingly taut look and feel for the breasts. He can also address issues of asymmetry for new moms whose breasts have matured unevenly since pregnancy and childbirth.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

In order to cradle your burgeoning baby during its formative months, your midsection invariably expanded. After childbirth, it can be incredibly difficult to restore elasticity to the belly without a surgical intervention. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) procedure can gently remove unwanted skin along the midriff, helping to flatten and contour the area.[4] Tummy tuck surgery may include liposuction as part of its overall enhancement approach.

Some women stretch their abdominal muscles during pregnancy. It is a condition known as diastasis recti.[5] Dr. Booth can address stretched or damaged muscles in the midsection by tightening them during abdominoplasty surgery.

The result is a more pleasing look and feel to the stomach region.

Lower Body Lift

Pregnancy takes its toll on the skin in places other than the belly. If you struggle with loose, hanging skin along the flanks, back, buttocks, or thighs, a lower body lift may be in order.[6] Dr. Booth will conceal his incisions along the natural folds and creases of the body. He can remove unwanted fat as he contours away redundant skin.

Dr. Booth is a foremost expert on providing lower body lifts that accentuate a woman’s best features.

Lower body lifts are delicate procedures, so they should only be performed by a highly skilled surgeon like Dr. Booth. One reason why body lifts are exceedingly complex is because of the network of fasciae lining the trunk of the body.[7] Fasciae are bands of thick, connective tissue that enmesh and separate muscles, organs, and soft tissue. Your plastic surgeon must not pull the fasciae too tight, or it will limit your range of motion. On the other hand, if the fasciae are ignored, they will continue to sag and clash with the newly-slimmed fat and skin contours of a lower body lift.

Hence, your surgeon must maneuver the fasciae precisely. You deserve to be celebrated for the wonderful, beautiful mom you are. Contact Dr. Booth and ask about one or more of the mommy makeover procedures described above.

Eligible Candidates

Women who wish to restore the dimensions of their pre-pregnancy bodies are ideal candidates for a mommy makeover. Please tell Dr. Booth if you are still breastfeeding, as it will guide his recommendations for breast enhancement procedures. Also, if you plan to have more children in the near future, it may be wise to postpone your mommy makeover plans. Another pregnancy can work counter to the rejuvenative efforts of the aesthetic enhancement process. Dr. Booth can determine your eligibility for any and all of the procedures included in a mommy makeover during your comprehensive consultation.
